Can I cancel? | Locus Founder

Yes — you can cancel your Locus Founder subscription at any time, without penalties or lock-in. If you cancel before your 24-hour free trial ends, you are never charged. If you cancel a paid plan mid-cycle, access continues through the end of the billing period.

How cancellation works

Cancellation is self-serve. Once you cancel, no future billing runs. You keep full access to your workspace — including the website, CRM, domain, and Stripe account — through the last day you paid for.

After the period ends, your workspace is paused. The agent stops taking autonomous actions. Nothing is deleted immediately, so you have time to export or hand things off.

What you own when you leave

This is worth being explicit about: you own everything the agent built. Locus is a cofounder, not a host that holds your business hostage. Specifically:

Nothing Locus built for you disappears when you cancel. You are not leaving a platform; you are ending a working relationship with a cofounder.

The free trial and cancellation

Every new workspace opens with a 24-hour free trial: $5 of agent credit with a card on file. You can see a real website go live, watch the agent start outreach, and evaluate the product before paying a dollar.

Cancel before the 24 hours are up and the card is never charged. There is no partial-day proration — you either cancel in the trial window or you don't.

Pricing you're canceling from

For context, here is what a paid subscription costs:

Plan Price What's included
Founder Monthly $25 first mo, then $50/mo Monthly agent-credit allowance
Founder Annual $500 / year (two months free) Same allowance, lower effective rate

Beyond the subscription, agent activity (API calls, model inference, compute) draws from your credit allowance. Once that runs out in a given month, overages are billed at cost plus up to 30%. Auto-top-up is off by default — you control whether it runs.

The 1% fee on customer payments and the 5% revenue share (only on revenue above $1,000 in a calendar month) both stop the moment your workspace is no longer active. You owe nothing on past revenue once you cancel.

If you're pausing rather than canceling

Some founders cancel mid-experiment and come back later. Because you own the domain and the Stripe account, re-opening is straightforward — the infrastructure you built doesn't evaporate. If you start a new workspace, the same 24-hour free trial applies.

There is no re-activation fee. You are not locked into a contract.

Common concerns

"Will the agent keep spending money after I cancel?" No. Cancellation stops autonomous activity. The agent does not initiate outreach, run ads, or take any action on your behalf once the workspace is paused.

"What about the revenue share?" The 5% share only applies to revenue above $1,000 in a calendar month — and only while your subscription is active. Once canceled, no share accrues on anything.

"Can I export my data before canceling?" Yes. Export tools are available inside the workspace at any time, including during the cancellation window.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pause instead of cancel? Not yet as a distinct setting. Canceling a paid plan effectively pauses the workspace — the agent stops acting, but your data stays intact through the end of the billing period.

Is there a cancellation fee? No. Cancel anytime for free. The only charge you could incur is the subscription fee for the current billing period, which you have already paid.

What happens to my domain if I cancel? The domain is registered in your name. Locus does not revoke or reclaim it. You can transfer it to any registrar at any time.

Can I try Locus without committing to a paid plan? Yes. Every workspace opens with a 24-hour free trial — $5 of agent credit, card on file. Cancel before 24 hours and you are never billed.
