What does Locus cost? | Locus Founder

Locus Founder pricing is straightforward: $25 your first month, then $50/month (Founder Monthly) or $500/year (Founder Annual, two months free). Every new workspace opens with a 24-hour free trial — $5 of agent credit, card on file, cancel before the trial ends and you're never charged.

Here is the full breakdown.

The two plans

Plan Price Savings
Founder Monthly $25 first mo, then $50/mo $25 off your first month
Founder Annual $500 / year ~$100 (two months free)

Both plans include a monthly agent-credit allowance that covers the AI work — models, APIs, compute — Locus runs on your behalf. Most founders in normal operation stay comfortably within their included credits.

Agent credits and overages

Locus runs real software on your behalf: it calls language models, external APIs, and cloud compute every time it builds something, researches a market, or sends outreach. That work has a cost, and credits are how Locus accounts for it.

Your plan includes a monthly credit allowance. When that allowance runs out, any additional agent activity is billed at cost plus a margin of up to 30%. There is no surprise markup beyond that ceiling.

Auto-top-up is available if you want uninterrupted operation, but it is off by default. You decide whether to top up and how much.

The 1% payment fee

When a customer pays you through your Locus-connected site, the charge settles directly into your own Stripe account — Locus never holds your money. On top of Stripe's standard processing fees, Locus adds 1% of each successful charge.

This applies from your first sale. It is small by design: at $1,000 in monthly revenue, the Locus fee is $10. At $5,000, it is $50.

Revenue share above $1,000/month

Once a business clears $1,000 of revenue in a calendar month, Locus takes 5% of the revenue above that line. The first $1,000 every month is entirely yours.

A worked example:

The revenue share only kicks in when a business is actually generating meaningful cash. It is aligned with your success, not charged upfront.

You own everything

Locus Founder pricing is designed around a simple principle: Locus is the cofounder, not the owner. You own the domain, the customer list, the content, and the Stripe account. One-click export of all of it, any time. If you cancel, nothing is locked in.

This is meaningfully different from creator platforms or commerce builders that hold your customer data, your storefront, or your payout balance. Locus is building your business.

What is included for $50/month (or $25 your first month)

For context on what the subscription buys, Locus is not a website builder you operate. It is an AI cofounder that, within your workspace, autonomously:

Anything customer-facing — a message, an ad, a price, a charge — waits for your explicit approval. You keep the final word. You can pause a workspace at any time.

That scope of work — website, outreach, ads, CRM, payments, running end-to-end — is what you are paying for. A comparable stack assembled manually (domain, hosting, email automation, CRM, ad management, payment processing) would cost several hundred dollars per month and require you to run all of it yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new workspace opens with a 24-hour free trial and $5 of agent credit. A card on file is required. Cancel before the trial ends and you are never charged.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel before the next billing date and you will not be charged for the following period. You keep access until the end of the cycle you paid for.

What counts as "agent activity" for overage billing?

Anything Locus does autonomously on your behalf: calling language models, running web research, sending outreach, generating content, managing ads. Normal workspace operation — chatting with the agent, reviewing drafts, approving actions — does not consume credits.

Does Locus take a cut if I export my business and leave?

No. The 5% revenue share applies to revenue processed through your Locus workspace while it is active. Export your domain, customer list, and Stripe account at any time with no exit fee.
